I got the privilege of being a choir member at First Presbyterian Church under Phil's directorship. I got exposed to all sorts of music genres under him, both at church and attending events at Westminster College. He has gone on to heaven and is probably working with the choir up there.
I knew Phil for many years and considered him a good friend. He was an outstanding musician and accompanist and he gave me many fine opportunities to sing. He made my life better. I am glad that he is now in a better place. Roger Summerhays
