May 8, 1957 - July 29, 2017\r\n \r\nOur beloved brother Tut passed away July 29, 2017 after a determined battle with diabetes. Tut was an avid sports enthusiast and trading card collector. His favorite sports team was whoever was wining at the time, although he loved the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz. One of his favorite players was Michael Jordan. Tut loved kids and loved to see them laugh. He was a loving brother, caring for his special needs sister along with Ray Ortiz until his passing. He was always ready and willing to help anyone he could and cared deeply for his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Guadalupe Ortiz and father Julio Ortiz Capeles. He is survived by sisters Olga Gomez; Juanita Ortiz; Guadalupe Ortiz; Joan Ortiz; Pauline Sprague; Julia Garcia (Richard); Bacilia Egginton (Duff); Sonya Taosoga (Tusa) and brother Julio Ortiz (Jennifer) along with several nieces and nephews. Tut we love you and miss you, but we know you're at peace and in a better place. \r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday August 3rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 174 East 900 South, Salt Lake City where friends may visit 1 hour prior to the mass. \r\n
