Anna Marie Buhler\r\n\r\n1938 - 2018\r\n\r\nIt is with deep regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Anna Marie Buhler, on the 20th of March 2018, after a prolonged illness.\r\n\r\nAnna Marie was born the 28th of February in 1938 to Joseph John and Helen Anne Keiser. The family lived in the Liberty Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City. She was the sixth of ten children. Anna was a devout Roman Catholic and an alumnus of Judge Memorial Catholic High School. She was an active member of St. Ambrose Parish in Salt Lake City.\r\n\r\nAn event showing Anna's true strength and persistence was surviving polio, which she contracted twice, during the Polio epidemics of the 1950's. It was thought she would never walk again, however, she did walk again; down her wedding aisle, and, she walked her children to school, and she hiked with her Girl Scout troop, and, until recently, was determined to walk where ever she wanted to go.\r\n\r\nIn 1962, she married Robert D. Buhler. They were the Parents of four children; Robert Jr., Michele, Caraleen and David.\r\n\r\nAnna had a very mathematical mind. As an independent minded business woman for many years she worked for H&R Block as a Tax Preparer, then opened her own tax business in Murray, Utah. It was very important to her that her children have a great education, and so she worked very hard to provide that to them.\r\n\r\nAnna truly knew what it was like to be sick. If you were in the hospital, you could count on a visit from her every day. She also remembered everyone's Birthday and Anniversary with a card.\r\n\r\nAnna was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Mary Catherine, many years ago. In 1995, husband Robert passed away after a battle with brain cancer. More recently, she lost her brothers Edward and John, her sister Rita and husband Ed Brilz, and brother-in-law Hank Roticci.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her children Robert (Carrie) Buhler, Jr., Michele (Dave) Pilling, Caraleen (Christopher) Marks, and David Buhler. She has four grandchildren: Joseph and Sarah Buhler, and Hope and Christian Marks. She is survived also by her siblings Gertrude Roticci, Josephine Divver, Louise (Donald) Lochead, Theresa Elder, George (Kathy) Keiser, and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nAnna's family would like to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to her caregivers, especially Ashley and Kylie, as well as her hospice nurses Katie and Michelle, in her final days at Alta Ridge Memory Care in Sandy, Utah. Many thanks are extended also to the caregivers for her nearly 2 years of residence at Legacy House in Taylorsville, Utah; especially Jennie.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East. A vigil service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please make your contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation, or a charity of your choice. Anna Marie, we love you, and you will be dearly missed.
