Arcelia (RC) Archuleta

July 17, 1939 - August 3, 2021

Arcelia (RC) Archuleta passed away peacefully on the morning of August 3rd, 2021 surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on January 17th, 1939, in La Petaca New Mexico to Jose Angel and Dulce Nella Giron. RC enjoyed her many, many friendships that she developed throughout her lifetime. RC loved dancing to her New Mexico music and always had a bowl of beans and tortillas (her favorite meal!) at the ready for anybody that dropped by. She loved designing her own clothes, sequence, rhinestones, and glitter. You could always find her rummaging through the racks at any thrift store. She was the original (OG) selfie Queen. RC is survived by daughter Tona Archuleta Lopez and Son Steve (Tina) Archuleta and her two oldest grandchildren Melisa Johnson and Miguel Lopez who took such wonderful care of their grandma in the last years of her life. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Maria Barela, Jenny Herrera, Diane Giron Sanchez, Ruth Truesdell, sister-in-law’s Anna Giron, Barbara Gallegos Giron and brother Robert Giron. She was preceded in death by husband Agapito (Ronel) Archuleta, son Nick Archuleta, daughter Lucy Archuleta, father and mother Joe Giron and Nella Giron, brothers Horacio Giron and Joe R. Giron, sister Elizama Archuleta and Tia Lola Benavidez. RC’s Celebration of Life will be held Friday August 6th 2021, at St. Ann Catholic Church located 2119 S. 400 E. Salt Lake City, visitation will start at 10:30 am followed by a Rosary at 11:30am and mass at noon. Burial – Larkin Sunset Lawn 2350 E. 1300 S. Salt Lake City with a luncheon to follow at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home – 372 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City. Special thanks to the staff at Welcome Home Assisted Living and RC’s good friend Karen and very special thanks to Melisa Johnson and Miguel Lopez for all they’ve done for their grandma.
