Barbara Jones Vaculin
August 11, 1930 - April 26, 2020
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend. Barbara passed away peacefully on April 26, 2020 surrounded by the spiritual love of her family and by the loving staff at Holladay Healthcare Center. She was 89 years young and fought to make it to her 90th birthday. Barbara was born on August 11, 1930 in San Pedro, California to Vivian Brown Jones & Herbert Jones. She grew up in a loving home with her sister/best friend Katy. Her father was in the Navy and throughout her early years, she traveled all over the country before settling in Utah. She was a graduate of Cyprus High School and later met her husband Joseph Vaculin and later divorced. Together they raised and deeply cherished their three sons and one daughter. Barbara had unconditional love for her family and made sacrifices to ensure that each of her children had many opportunities to excel in sports and education. Words cannot describe how much love she had in her heart for her family and her dear friends that she considered her family. Barbara was in turn loved very much by everyone that had the good fortune to spend time with her. She was witty and kind and made everyone feel as though they held a special place in her heart. She was always ready to share a good joke, a poem she remembered from her childhood, or recommend a good book. Her favorite hobby was reading and it gave her such joy. Barbara was a nurse for 37 years and never lost her passion for nursing. She took pride in the care she provided to her many patients in the ICU, Psychiatric Hospital, surgical units, and NICU. She was a hero to so many of her patients and fellow professionals because of her commitment to giving her patients the very best care. Barbara’s beauty, intelligence, talent, and love will be forever missed. Her memory is eternal! Barbara is survived by her children: Mike (Roxie), Jerry (Laurin), Mary Jo Vaculin Palmer, Patrick (Palla) and special friends Tammy and Sterling Wootton, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and her sister, Katy Bender. We will Miss and Treasure your Love Forever In our Hearts.
