Florence Aiko Fushimi
February 12, 2016
"Flo"\r\nWe say farewell to a very kind and gentle woman who departed quietly on February 12, 2016.\r\n\r\nFlo was born at home on January 31, 1922 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to J. and Koto Awa Maruyama. Flo built a wonderful life in Salt Lake City with her loving husband Herbert H. Fushimi and together they formed lifelong relationships that spanned the world. We wish there were some way to reach out to them all.\r\n\r\nAll who knew Flo adored her. She was generous, giving and filled with compassion and interest in others. She graduated from Stevens Henager College, worked at Deseret Book and ZCMI, and retired from Beehive Credit Union. She volunteered in many capacities, giving over 7300 hours of service at IHC and LDS Hospitals over 14 years, up until just a few weeks before she passed away.\r\n\r\nHer wonderfully unique and animated personality, humble demeanor and subtle sense of humor allowed her to get away with things that others may not. She made a difference in many people's lives. We will remember her sweet smile, her warmth and her endless energy. She worked very hard, enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and was always adventurous, skiing and snowboarding into her 80's.\r\n\r\nFlo was preceded in death by her husband, Herbie, and is survived by many very dear friends with whom she shared her wisdom and her love for life. See ya, Flo. Although your work here may finally be finished, we will miss you.\r\n\r\nAt Flo's request there will be no services. Funeral Directors, Neil O\'Donnell and Sons.
