Janny Wolterman, aged 94, died peacefully on July 5, 2017, she suffered a brief bought of pneumonia days before her passing in her home in Millcreek. Janny was born May 2, 1923, in Beverwijk, Holland the daughter of Kees Degelder and Elizabeth Koek.\r\nJanny thoroughly enjoyed traveling, socializing with her friends and family and her rose gardens. She always enjoyed having people over to her home for gatherings, cooking, and being a perfect hostess. She was a great conversationalist, and shared wonderful stories with everyone she met along the way.\r\nIn 1945, Janny married the love of her life Hank Wolterman, and had two children in Holland before moving to the United States in 1957. They moved into a farming community in Idaho Falls, before making Salt Lake City, Utah their permanent home. Hank worked as a baker, while Janny stayed home raising their two children.\r\nJanny was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and continuously gave back to the community with donations to various charities she belonged to.\r\nJanny is survived by her sister, Coba and her Daughter Tina Shields; grand daughters, Debra Shields of Portland, OR and Tonia Shields of Salt Lake City, UT; two great grand daughters and three great great grand daughters; and a number of other relatives and close friends survive Janny.
