Jose Eudoro Ulibarri

September 5, 2019

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Jose Eudoro (Eddie) Ulibarri, age 89, passed away at his home in Salt Lake City, surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 5, 2019. He was born on May 3, 1930 in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico to Antonio and Maria Anastacia (Martinez) Ulibarri.  Eddie worked for Union Pacific for 34 years, he loved the railroad and was dedicated to his job.  He loved to travel to New Mexico to see his family and enjoyed camping. He could often be found in the garage "tinkering" about.  He could fix anything and even added an addition to the family home and remodeled again and again.  He was a man of few words but when he spoke, you listened.   His remarks and comments kept us all laughing!  He was known for making the best green chili ever and breakfast potatoes! When he wasn't in the garden picking chili or pulling weeds, he enjoyed watching westerns in his recliner chair while reading the newspaper and eventually falling asleep! On September 3, 1960, he married Mary Rae Arguello. Together, they had a son and two daughters. Eddie and Mary enjoyed dancing the jitterbug where they won many awards.  They loved to dance and everyone loved to watch them.  He will be greatly missed by his family! He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, son Jeff Manzanares, daughters Emily Kikkert (John), Monica Ulibarri-Ludlow (Jason),  12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Joe; sisters, Mary, Sidelia, Veronica and Vicki. Funeral services, viewing and rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 2119 S. 400 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. Viewing will take place from 9:30-10:30, rosary from 10:30-11:00, funeral mass will be held at 11:00. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetary 275 "U" Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at St. Ann Catholic Church.
