Barbara Stevens Losse's Obituary
1947-2018\r\n\r\nBarbara was born May 30, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, to John William Losse, Jr and Marjorie Penney Losse. The family moved to Salt Lake City in 1955, where Barbara attended Rowland Hall and received her diploma in 1965. She graduated from Marietta College in 1969 with a B.A. in History. Barbara then moved to New York City and worked as a credit analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank.\r\n\r\nFrom New York she returned to Utah, where she worked variously in banking, in college advancement at Westminster College, as a realtor, and thereafter with the Episcopal Diocese of Utah. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for the Utah Arts Festival, on whose board she served. An active member of the Cathedral Church of St. Mark, she held many volunteer and professional positions there. She enjoyed singing with the Utah Sacred Harp and was a long-time supporter of the University of Utah Women's Gymnastics Team.\r\n\r\nBarbara is survived by her brother John and sisters Georgia, Penney and Jane, as well as beloved nieces and nephews: Kate, Owen, Shannon, Scott, Dax, Paley, Gelsey, Georgia, Claire, Grace and Doogie. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary in 2005, and nephews John and Christian.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's name to the St. Mark's Cathedral Music Program, or to the charity of your choice.
