Beatrice Trople's Obituary
Beatrice T Trople, our "Honey Bea", 88, passed away peacefully from vascular dementia on Cinco De Mayo, one of her favorite holidays, May 5, 2016.\r\n\r\nBea was born August 27, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming; to Glen and Eva Leveque Burgess. Bea was the fourth of five siblings, three brothers, Glenn, Martin, Joseph and one sister, Annette.\r\nMom attended business school in Denver and worked at Arthur Murray dancing school to earn her way.\r\nBea met the love of her life, her "Bohunk" Frank, in Spearfish, SD and the two were married 11 weeks later on October 15, 1948.\r\nMom and dad had six children, Linda Trople, Albert, (Susan Molitar), Debbie Trople, Greg Trople, Tamara (McKay Baker) Jones, Glen (Lisa Peterson).\r\nMom and dad moved to the avenues in Salt Lake City Utah in 1959. They attended Cathedral of the Madeline and in 1969 they moved to Sugarhouse and attended Our Lady of Lourdes, Later the Newman Center.\r\nMom was a teacher's assistant at the Columbus School for teens and adults with learning disabilities for several years when a teacher friend recognize Bea's gift of teaching and encouraged her to apply for scholarships to earn her degree. Mom attended Westminster College in 1972 on a full scholarship and graduated summa cum laude. She then went on to receive her masters degree in 1977 from the University of Utah. Dad was mom's greatest fan! Bea taught kindergarten at Parkview elementary, Bonneville elementary, Our Lady of Lourdes, The Little Red Schoolhouse and Montessori. Just fathom the number of children whose lives she has touched in the 33 years of teaching, tutoring and just being "Honey Bea".\r\n\r\nBea loved music and dancing, the Utah Jazz, the running Utes and any team that beat BYU!\r\nHer husband not withstanding, she loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world. We learned that biology is the least of what makes you family. We learned to dance as soon as we could walk. Most importantly she taught us to live life and to love unconditionally.\r\n\r\nBea is survived by her daughters: Linda, Debbie, Tamara: son, Glen, brother: Martin, sister: Annette, son-in-law: Mckay, daughter-in-law's, Susan, Lisa, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers please make donations/checks in Bea's name to:\r\nThe kindergarten class at Our Lady of Lourdes\r\n1065 E 700 S SLC, Utah 84102\r\n\r\n\r\nThere will be a Vigil from 6-7pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Neil O'Donnell Mortuary;\r\n372 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City, UT 84111\r\nThere will be a viewing from 10:30 to 11 AM and the funeral mass will be held at 11am Friday, May 13, 2016 at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Newman Center;\r\n170 University St. E., Salt Lake City, UT 84102
