Preston (Pep) Brian Gomer's Obituary
Preston (Pep) Brian Gomer 1956-2022
Preston Brian Gomer was a devoted husband, son, brother, dad and grandpa (pawpaw). He was a family man and good friend to many. Preston passed away on July 24th, 2022 peacefully in his sleep.
He was born on October 13,1956 to Eula Mae Sessums Gomer (Mae) and Edgar Reinald Gomer(Bill).
Preston is preceded in death by his father Edgar(Bill) Gomer, his brother Bruce Gomer and his wife Cindy Gomer. Preston is survived by his mother Eula Mae Gomer, sister Melissa Smith (Lisa) (Mike), two step daughters Cassie and Nicole, niece and nephews Tara (Bruce) (husband Troy) Tyler and Gavin (Melissa) and Billy (Bruce) (wife Quortnie).
Preston enjoyed spending time with family and holiday get-togethers, watching movies on the weekends with his wife, and going out to Dee's for their lumberjack breakfast. His love of cooking was reflected in his barbecue steaks and the batches of chili verde he and Cindy loved to do together. A tradition he continued even after the loss of Cindy. He loved helping those in need, always going the extra mile for a friend or loved one. He enjoyed his custom car build shows, Bob Ross, and wildlife documentaries. He enjoyed all versions of Star Trek, cooking shows, and having someone to tell all his many stories too. Most of all, Preston adored his wife Cindy and seeing her great big happy smile and hearing her mischievous little giggles. As thoughtful and caring as Preston was, it's no wonder Cindy loved him as much as she did.
Preston loved his two step daughters Cassie and Nicole and being a grandpa to Emily, Madelynn,
Matthew and Izzy. He loved his father Bill and brother, Bruce and missed them both dearly after their passing.
Preston was very proud to be a part of his work family at Great Dane. He wouldn't have asked to be anywhere else. He loved to talk about how his day went and what projects he was working on. He enjoyed being part of the functions that Great Dane would have to help the community. He was a hard worker and he took great pride in everything he did.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him but it cannot compare to how much he missed his wife Cindy. May he find peace and joy with her in the after life.
