Rose Marie Costello's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rose Marie Costello, a beloved wife, aunt, friend, and inspiration to all who knew her. Rose was born on November 4, 1956, and passed peacefully on Friday June 13, 2025 at 10:54 pm. Rose lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering compassion.
On March 1, 1975, she married the love of her life, Phillip R. Costello at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church. For 50 beautiful years, their bond stood as a shining example of devotion—an enduring love story filled with mutual respect, deep affection, and laughter. Their love for each other was truly extraordinary, a rare and beautiful connection that touched everyone who witnessed it.
Rose was a fighter in the truest sense. Life knocked her down many times, but she always rose—faster, stronger, and more determined than before. Her resilience inspired those around her, but it was her gentle heart and grace that defined her spirit. She was both a warrior and an angel, showing us all how to be kinder, more patient, and more present in the lives of those we love.
She devoted more than two decades of her career to the University of Utah, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact. Her colleagues remember her as someone who brought warmth and integrity to everything she did.
Rose was a lover of life. She embraced each moment fully, finding joy in the simple things and always encouraging others to do the same. Her legacy is one of strength, ever lasting love, patience and compassion, a legacy that will continue to live on in all those that were blessed to know and love her .
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Those left to live on for her are her husband Phillip R Costello, Father Arturo Estrada, Mother Margret Estrada, Father Richard Costello, Mother Rose Costello and many Brothers, Sisters Nephews and Nieces.
