William \"Bill\" Gibson's Obituary
William "Bill" Gerald Gibson, born 8-22-46, died Saturday November 11, 2017 after experiencing unexpected complications from ongoing health concerns.\r\nBill is survived by his two children; William F. Gibson (Jill) Farmington, Utah and Marie K. Gibson Layton Utah and his brother Gary (Jody) Gibson. He is preceded in death by his parents William Marvin Gibson and Katherine Teresa Gibson (Lopez).\r\nBill was born in Salt Lake City and attended South High School, graduating in 1964. Bill met Gloria Green at the Utah Music Academy where they both took accordion lessons. Bill and Gloria married in 1965 and had two children prior to divorcing in 1972.\r\nBill continued his education after high school, earning his Associates Degree in Accounting from Steven's Henagar Business College in 1972. Bill married Christine "Chris" Scothern in 1974 and they were married for 23 years, during which time he passed his CPA exam and established his business as William Gibson Consulting.\r\nBill loved living in Salt Lake and being a part of the Salt Lake business community. He prided himself on caring for his clients with the utmost professionalism and honestly. His strong work ethic and integrity established him as a trusted CPA and consultant for small businesses throughout the Salt Lake City community.\r\nBill had a true love for the tropical beauty of the Hawaiian Islands, visiting the islands often with family and friends. Bill enjoyed reading, writing poetry, music, watching football and playing pool with his friends and colleagues.\r\n\r\nIn keeping with Bill's final wishes, there will be no public funeral or viewing.\r\n
