Anthony Gilbert Trujillo's Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Gilbert Trujillo was a caring son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His battles with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Tony stayed strong until the end. He left this world suddenly on February 16, 2021 at age 62.
Tony was born to Mary Herrera and Eddie G. Trujillo on January 4, 1959. He is survived by his Mother Mary Trujillo, Son Anthony Trujillo, Grandsons, Brothers John, Ted, Conrad, Dean and Andrew Trujillo; And many Nieces and Nephews; And Great Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded by his Father Eddie G. Trujillo, Niece Crystal and many others.
When we picture Tony we think of his laugh, smile, and jokes. He was they type of guy that would strike up a conversation with the checker at the grocery store and usually had them laughing before he left. He was a damn good cook and had a talent for making wholesome meals. He enjoyed cooking for those he cared for. He would spoil his grandsons with treats and taught his son everything he knew about cooking from chile to lasagna. He always made time for those who were in need and always had time to listen. He kept everyone in the loop with family matters and was a constant reminder of birthdays.
He wrote to his son “I’m proud of little Anthony and Dominic, they are smart young men who are going places in life “fingers crossed.” They remind me of you when you were young. You’re an awesome, smart hardworking young man and I’m proud as hell of you Son #1. Love you guys forever Dad #1.” What he didn’t know is we inherited all those strengths from him. It is sad and ironic that my father’s biggest strength was also his weakness, his heart. We love him and will forever.
