Arthur Dean Hayes' Obituary
Arthur Dean Hayes, age 78, passed away Thanksgiving evening on November 24, 2022, in his home, from the affects of Dementia, and after being surrounded by loved ones. He was born on June 08, 1944, in Lehi Utah to Nettie Lorraine Cook and Fred Dean Hayes.
Arthur graduated from West High School in 1962, and in 1965 he met his eternal companion who were married in the Salt Lake City temple on April 22, 1965.
With loving arms, they welcomed five children Shantel (Paul) McBride, Dawnel (Craig) Dumas, Carmel (Steve) Hutchings, Art Hayes Jr., and Preston (Laura) Hayes. They were also blessed with eight grandchildren, McKenzie and Robby Severson, Tanner McBride, Brent Hutchings, Tayler McBride, Corbin Dumas, Aria Hayes, Wyatt Hutchings, as well as one great grandchild Ryker Severson.
Arthur worked for United Airlines for 35 years, and ran his own auto body business known as Auto Art. At Auto Art he restored many antique cars and won several awards. He worked hard and provided for his family, and they were able to vacation to several different places. He was known to help anyone with anything and would make friends everywhere he went. He had a great love of food and shared the love of snacking with his grandchildren.
Arthur is survived by his wife Margie Dian Hall Hayes and his immediate family. As well as, his sister Connie Hayes Butterfield, two nieces (Lindsey and Carly), and one brother in-law Roger Bryan. He is preceded in death by his parents Dean and Nettie Hayes, two sisters (Kathy and Lori), brother in-law Rod Butterfield, Zach Cox, Steve Hall, and Lois and Ralph Hall.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2022, at Neil O’Donnell Funeral home located at 372 E. 100 S. Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. The viewing will be from 11:00 am-1:00 pm followed by a funeral from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at the Riverton cemetery located at 1540 W. 13200 S. Riverton, Utah 84065 with immediate family and close friends.
His family would like to thank his care team, Art Jr., Carmel, Alex, Angie, Della, Julie, Randy, Nysje, Wayne, Kim, and Roseann.
