Benjamin "Benny" Harold Gallegos' Obituary
Our beloved Benny returned to our Heavenly Father on July 13, 2020 in SLC, Utah from health complications. He was surrounded by his family when his journey on this earth came to an end. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary "Angie" Gallegos, and two daughters Cindy Martinez (Dennis) & Debra Candelaria. He had six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren (with one on the way), and three great-great grandchildren. He had an especially strong and unbreakable bond with his grandson John and granddaughter Nikki who he adored.
He was born in Delta, CO to Anita Vigil and Max Gallegos on July 17th 1933. He had ten siblings, with two surviving Vera Aguliar and Rocky Gallegos, and many nieces and nephews.
Benny proudly served overseas in the United States Military from 1950 to 1953. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, and cooking. He also enjoyed going to Wendover with Chantell, John, Little Jose, Josh, Joseph and Daniel and spending time with his wife and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd. in Bluffdale. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home, 372 E. 100 S. in Salt Lake City.
