Betty Joy Wagstaff's Obituary
Betty Joy McQueary Wagstaff\r\n\r\n1924-2015\r\n\r\n Betty Joy Wagstaff died July 27, 2015. A Salt Lake City native, born October 29, 1924. Betty attended high school at the Lodi Academy, in California, prior to marrying her sweetheart, Gene, in 1942. Betty and Gene stayed married for 72 years. Gene proceeded her in death, in February of this year. They were like bookends during their lives. Now, they are back together again. \r\n\r\n During World War II, Gene joined the US Navy, and Betty took jobs on both coasts, staying as close as possible, to her husband's home port. In Los Angeles, she worked for Douglas Aircraft, assembling planes for the military, and while in New York, she worked as a secretary for a Naval commander.\r\n\r\nAlthough Betty was not affiliated with any particular church, she was a Christian, who read her Bible daily, throughout most of her life. \r\n\r\n Betty is survived by her son, Larry Wagstaff; grandsons James (Yvonne), Kenneth (Melody), Daniel (Rebecca); great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooks, Noah, Harmony, Anderson, Harrison, and Emerson Wagstaff; sister, Ruth Neilson, brother, David McQueary, and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.\r\n\r\n Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S. State St., Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Visitation at 10:00 AM. Funeral at 11:00 AM. Pastor France A.
