Carla Margaret Carrico's Obituary
Carla Margaret Carrico passed away peacefully on the morning of October 23, 2023.
She was born July 12, 1931 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Paul and Marie Carter. She spent her younger years in Helper, UT, but ultimately settled in the Salt Lake area. She graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart Charles on July 19, 1951.
Carla was a dedicated wife, mother, grandma, aunt and friend. She dedicated her life to the Catholic Faith and was a strong advocate for Catholic School Education. She spent a few years working at Aurbach’s, obtained her Real Estate license in 1978, but her greatest professional achievement was being a member of the American Guild of Organists and playing for Catholic Churches and Parishes throughout the Salt Lake Valley for over 50 years. She was strong and independent woman who overcame two battles with cancer, most recently when she completed treatment and was able to ring the cancer bell on Feb 1st, 2022. The family would like to express our gratitude for all the wonderful caregivers from Truewood and Applegate who assisted in her care.
Carla is survived by her 3 sons Chuck (Holly), Dennis (Vivian), Terry (Virginia), 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and longtime daughter in law, Valerie. After 15 years, she was able to reunite with her loving husband Charlie. She’s also proceeded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and numerous loved ones who have passed away prior.
Family and friends can gather for a viewing on Thursday November 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at St Ann’s Catholic Church (450 E 2100 S, 84115). A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm followed by the Interment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery (275 U Street, 84103).
