Carlos "Carl" Richard Esparza's Obituary
Carlos “Carl” Richard Esparza, age 72, passed away on August 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 4, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Annie Garcia and Gilbert Esparza. He married Emma Ramona Rose Martinez on May 18, 1974 in Rose Park, Utah. Ramona preceded him in death on December 6, 2011.
Carl was a man of patience and virtue who unconditionally loved his wife and all of his family. Carl was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served in Vietnam from 1970 through 1971 when he was honorably discharged. Carl was in love with Ramona and married the love of his life. Carl loved music and always had it playing whenever he could. He enjoyed gardening, hanging out on his backyard patio and barbecuing burgers. Our father, our grandpa will be missed, we love you.
He has survived by his son Daniel Esparza (wife Nelita Esparza), daughter Sylvia Esparza Vega (husband Cervando Vega); Grandkids, Robert Miranda (wife Yesenia Miranda), Mackenzie Miranda (husband Edward Cisneros), Emma Bugingo (husband Phil Bugingo), Virginia Esparza, Richard Esparza; Grandkids; (Sylvia) Cassandra Vega, Victoria Vega, Diana Vega, Cervando Vega; Great-Grandkids; (Daniel) Miranda, Elijah Miranda, Azul Miranda, Drew Miriani, Roman Garcia and Leila Bugingo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Esparza; father, Gilbert Esparza, mother, Annie Esparza and brother, Roger Perez.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home(372 East 100 South Salt Lake City, Utah 84111) with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM followed by interment at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The Funeral Service will be available via Livestream under the Photo/Video tab of this obituary beginning at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
