Catherine K. Hyde's Obituary
Catherine K. Hyde, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Catherine lived a life rooted in faith and family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Allen Hyde; her parents, Dominic and Teresa Colonno; her brother Joe Colonno her uncle Sam Nesi and aunt Leona Nesi; her cherished great-grandson, Cashy Hyde; and her nephew Joe Canham.
She is survived by her devoted sons: JD Hyde (Julie), Patrick Hyde, and Sam Hyde (Jenny). Catherine was a proud and loving grandmother to Dominic Hyde (Micky), Michael Hyde, Carissa Hyde (Dominique Wilson), Jakota Curtis, Julie Knott, and Jenny Knott, and a deeply cherished great-grandmother to Colten John, Catherine, Rebel, Joaquin, James Allen, and Nori Jae.
She is also survived by her brother Sam Colonno; sisters Ellen Colonno and Millie Canham (Dennis); cousin Carol Armstrong (Jack); many beloved nieces and nephews- Tina Zvonek (Dan), Teresa Nielson, Dominic Colonno, Drew Flinders, Ashley Cowan, Brittany Anderson, Tony Colonno, Gia Colonno McNaughton, Rick Canham, Stephanie Canham, and Dennis Canham; and cousins Jeff Armstrong, Scott Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, and Marianne Armstrong.
Catherine was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She was known for her gentle spirit, her open heart, and her ability to accept and love everyone just as they were. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy, and she found happiness in the simple moments-attending church, visiting family, knitting, cooking, and gathering loved ones together for Sunday dinner.
She was a proud graduate of West High School and dedicated over 30 years of her career to O.C. Tanner, where she was respected for her commitment and strong work ethic.
Above all else, Catherine leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family. Her presence was steady and comforting, her love unconditional, and her faith a guiding light to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those she touched.
Services will be held as follows:
A viewing will take place on Monday, January 26th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell Funeral Home, 372 E 100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 27th, beginning at 11 :00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 1058 W 400 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
A luncheon will follow.
