Alton Marsh
So sorry to hear of Perry’s passing. I worked with him at Aviation Week in Washington, D,C. I enjoyed his impish humor while he was there. After he left he called me in Dallas where I was then stationed for Av/Wk to ask if Southwest was a good place for his pilot skills. I assured him it was the best performing airline on my bulletin board where I kept performance charts made by my trusty Epson computer. He dropped by and we had lunch at the Black Eyed Pea and I remember him pulling identification off his pilot’s uniform so no one could identify him as being in a place that served alcohol. I also recall him telling the story of his F-4 accident in which the flight control system broke and commanded full-up elevator, injuring his back. He had to be helped from the cockpit. We eventually lost touch and I’m sorry he is gone.
