Cheryl Steele Dust's Obituary
Cheryl Marie Steele Dust died June 7, 2019 due to complications from kidney disease. Cher was born July 23, 1958 to Capt. KR Burns, USMC (Ret) and Beth Hansen Burns at the Tripler US Army Hospital in Hawaii. She was baptized in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church on September 14, 1958, at St. Michael's Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Born into a military family, she travelled from duty station to duty station for her entire childhood, returning once again to Hawaii as a teenager for her dad's final tour before retirement and the family's return to Utah.\r\nCher met and married her best friend and soul mate, Bruce Edward Steele, on June 22, 1979. They had their marriage blessed in the Catholic Church on October 12, 1996. Together they raised two sons, Steven Bradley Burns of Denver, CO and Todd Richard Steele of Salt Lake City, UT. The only people she loved more than her boys were her four grandkids - Kamryn, Kaydign, Kighley and Kloey. She was so proud of them. Cher and Bruce had 25 wonderful years together before she unexpectedly lost him in 2004. However, she hit the jackpot again when she met and married Dean Brian Dust on July 7, 2008 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. They were married just over three years before Dean died in 2011.\r\nCher was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, brother Kenneth R Burns Jr., nieces Megan Elizabeth Foote and Kayla Marie Burns and nephew Justin Foote. She is survived by her two sons and four grandkids, sisters Mary Wells, Lisa Chacon (Rudy), Ann Foote, her brother Mike Burns (Gaylene) and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary. Internment was at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
