Consuelo (Connie) Martha Chavez's Obituary
Consuelo (Connie) Martha Chavez, at the age of 81, passed away on March 22 at her home in Tooele, Utah of natural causes. Connie was surrounded by loving husband Fred and children and grandchildren and went peacefully. Connie was born on September 14th 1940 in Romeo Colorado to Jose and Patrocenia Chavez. Connie was married to Fred Gonzales on March 2, 1962 in Elko Nevada. Connie and Fred just celebrated their 60th Anniversary.
Connie's parents moved from Romeo CO to Utah, where her Father opened a small store in Salt Lake City which she worked at. Connie attended High School at Judge Memorial and later went to college at St. Marys in Indiana. Our beloved Wife and Mother was the kindness and most compassionate soul that God could have ever blessed our Family with. Connie was Fred' s wife, caretaker, and soulmate for 60 years. Together they had 4 children, Fred Jr, Anna Maria, John David and Christian. Fred built a home in Lakeside, CA for our Mother to her specifications, where she raised us children and later would help build the next generation, her very much loved grandchildren. Connie decided to go back to school to become a Administrative assistant at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Ca. Connie was a translator for the hospital as she was fluent in Spanish. Connie would be called to translate in many areas of the hospital. Connie Excelled in this and took great pride in her work. The career that she loved came to a halt in 1999. October 2000 Connie became a heart transplant recipient which allowed her to live the rest of her life to the fullest. Connie loved to cook and everyone was welcomed at her table, the minute you walked in she would ask "are you hungry, thirsty, what can I get you". Connie learned to be a great cook at the Joint in Co. It didn't matter the time, our Mother loved to feed you and love you no matter the circumstance. If you went away hungry it was your fault because Mother made more than enough always thinking she was feeding an Amy. November of 2007 Connie and Fred moved back to Utah and retired. Thank you, Mama, for being such a wonderful example of what a WOMAN is a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Daughter.
Connie is survived by Fred Gonzales, her children Fred Jr (Jennifer) Anna Maria(Lori) John David, Christian(Bethany). Brothers, Bert Chavez, Anselmo Maestas, and sisters Leala and Betty. Grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob, Alexis, Christianna, Yessica, Christian Jr., Yessenia. Great Grandchildren Wayatt, Lane, Dakota.
