Cory Ryan Ehrnschwender's Obituary
Cory Ryan Ehrnschwender, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on July 20, 2023. He was born on September 21, 1988, in Syracuse, NY and resided in Cincinnati, Ohio since he was 4 years old. He was born to and is survived by his parents Celine Ehrnschwender [Newman] and David Ehrnschwender II. Besides his mom and dad, he is also survived by his brothers David Ehrnschwender III, (Katie [Robertson]), Steven Ehrnschwender, (Leah [Blanton]), grandparents Chaz Sergent, [Brock], (Denny), Carol Ehrnschwender [Landolt], Nina Newman [Sinnett], Michael Newman, (Joyce, [Rogers]), his nieces and nephews Joe, Payton, McKenzie, Caylie, Gavin, Aubrey, and Bryce, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and his girlfriend, Mackenzie Veler. Cory is preceded in death by his grandfather, David Ehrnschwender I.
Cory graduated from Northwest High School, then went to The College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati where he had the unique opportunity to not only play football, but to play with his brother Steven who also coached Cory’s senior year. Cory spent several years in sales before deciding this high stress job was not the career for him. He went back to the type of job he had while going to college, working in the service industry. This is where he shined. Cory was a people person with a bubbly personality, he genuinely cared about everyone he met and had hundreds of friends he met through his many adventures. Cory was an avid outdoor adventurer, he loved being outdoors and went camping in amazing places. He was a self-taught guitar player and played whenever he could. Many of Cory’s friends have made comments about him on Facebook: “He made people feel valued and important”: “His life was unfairly cut short, but he was more impacting than many people who live a full life.” In his abbreviated time on this earth, Cory’s journey was like a rock thrown into a lake: sending ripples outward into the future. Our hope is that people who knew Cory will continue to be kind, loving and genuine to other people they meet and to spread kindness to others.
A Celebration of Cory’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 1pm at Landmark Church, 1600 Glendale Milford Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45215. Food will be served after the Celebration of Life service. Because of his passion for the outdoors and for children, in lieu of flowers, we have set up a Go Fund Me account to send children to Camp Joy which combines both of his passions. Our goal is to send 22 children to camp for 5 days, which costs $1,000 per child. Camp Joy serves thousands of youths every year who would not have the chance to go to camp if it were not for the generous support of donors and community partners. Donations can be made to this Go Fund me account: Cory Ehrnschwender, organized by Steven Ehrnschwender
