Dai Vu's Obituary
Dai Vu, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on January 12, 1944, Dai lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and love.
Dai served as a chief police and fought with honor in the Vietnam War. His bravery and commitment to his duties were evident as he endured seven years as a prisoner of war after being captured by the Viet Cong. His remarkable spirit led to his eventual escape, after which he met his wife, Lien Tran.
Together, Dai and Lien built a family and raised three wonderful children: Hanh, Huong (Sherry),and Tho (Thomas). In 1992, seeking a brighter future for his family, Dai made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States. His determination and hard work provided a foundation for the family's new life in America.
Dai had a passion for gardening, raising chickens, building, and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He especially cherished moments spent watching his grandchildren play, bringing him immense happiness and pride.
Dai's life will be celebrated at a funeral service held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. His legacy of strength, love, and perseverance will live on through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife and mother of his children, Lien Tran; their children: Hanh Nguyen and husband Anthony, Huong (Sherry) Tran and husband Aarin, Tho (Thomas) Vu; five cherished grandchildren: Savannah Nguyen, Sienna Nguyen, Claire Vu, Alexander Tran and Adeline Tran.
Dai Vu will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
