Donna Mascher VandeVeegaete's Obituary
Our beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt, Donna Mascher VandeVeegaete, passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2019. Donna was born May 5, 1945 to the late Irvin and Stella Mascher in Provo, Utah. The family later moved to Salt Lake City.\r\nDonna married Paul VandeVeegaete on September 9, 1972. They have one son, Robert.\r\nDonna will be remembered for making special birthday cakes for her nieces and nephews. She created an erupting volcano masterpiece for one very excited nephew and made another nephew's dreams come true with a creative cake topped with tractors and garbage trucks. Whatever made them happy, she found a way to do it.\r\nEvery Easter Donna made chocolate zucchini cake eggs dipped in milk chocolate and decorated festively. She spent hours making dozens to give to family and friends. When health concerns prevented this tradition to continue, Easter was never the same.\r\nDonna is survived by her husband Paul, son Robert and brothers and sisters James (Sharon), Lauretta (Les), Jean (Ken), Terry (Jacky), Don (Donna), Shirley (Kerry), JoAnn (Rick), Michael (Brandy), the by far best looking brother Leonard, and the baby Colleen.\r\nDonna is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard, Bobby and Brent and sisters Betty and Connie.\r\nOur family would like to thank Doctor Pearl and Doctor Fazili from the LDS Hospital Pulmonology Department, Dr. Buys from the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Joelle from Huntsman at Home for the wonderful care given to Donna.\r\nIn lieu of flowers please donate to Huntsman at Home.
