Edward Joseph Mika's Obituary
1939 - 2018\r\nEdward Joseph Mika Jr. (Ted) passed away of natural causes, Saturday March 31, 2018 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our brother was a kind and generous man, a lover of nature, a world traveler, and an educated man who loved the arts and written word. A lifelong member of the Catholic Church who accepted Jesus Christ as his Redeemer and Savior. Ted graduated from Maryknoll College in Glen Ellen Illinois with a degree in Philosophy, from the University of Utah, with a degree in Sociology, from the United States Army Language School, where he became fluid in spoken and written French and the Salt Lake Community College with a degree in Building Construction. He was an Army Veteran, with meritorious service with the United States Army Intelligence Command in Orleans France. Worked as a firefighter with the Southern Idaho Timber Protective Association, United Airlines and retired from the Salt Lake County Recorder Office after many years of service. Ted is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Ruth Mika, his beloved nephew Steven DeCell and his dearest friend Gordon Anderson. He is survived by his siblings Marilyn DeCell, Houston Texas and Jerry Mika, St. George Utah. Also survived by nieces and nephews Bradley, Denise, Susan, Patrice and Alexandra.
