Eleanor Moss Kilbourn's Obituary
1928-2016\r\n \r\n\r\nEleanor Dorothy Melville Moss Kilbourn, 88, died of Alzheimer's on September 6, 2016, at Barton Creek Assisted Living. She was born in Boston, MA on April 18, 1928, daughter of Arthur Melville and Isabelle Long. She graduated from Regis College, Weston, MA with a BA degree in Sociology. She earned her MSW degree from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work.\r\n\r\nShe married Robert E. Moss in Newton, MA on August 29, 1953, and they moved to Ogden, UT with their family in 1962. She married Vern Kilbourn in 1979, and they were later divorced.\r\n\r\nShe was employed by the Utah Health Department, Bureau of Handicapped Children's Service, from 1970 to 1993 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She obtained Gerontology Certification from Weber State and worked in that field for many years after retiring.\r\n\r\nShe was an active member of the Catholic Church, serving as Eucharistic Minister, and in various organizations and capacities.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her four children, MaryAnne Mulvihill, Virginia (Patrick) Riley, Robert (Lois) Moss, and Elizabeth (James) Martinez; six grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, William Melville, Thomas Melville, and David Melville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, her brother Arthur Melville and her sister Mary Murphy.\r\n\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Olaf Church in Bountiful, UT on Monday, September 12, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may greet the family at the church for an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association, 855 E. 4800 S., SLC, UT 84107.
