As the oldest of Ellen Radike's siblings, I would like to thank all the people who enriched Ellen's life, especially in her last years of dialysis and dealing with Alzheimer's. Her steadfast friends, her wonderfully kind neighbors, nephrologist Dr Westenfelder before dialysis, Dr. Tooran Lavasani and all the staff, especially Aaron, in dialysis, Dr. Deborah Morgan from Cognitive Disorders, the much-loved-by-Ellen geriatrician Dr. Megan Puckett and her wonderful staff, and in her final week, Canyon hospice with Craig as her case manager RN, guiding us and her caregivers and visiting Ellen daily. Our dozen or so wonderful caregivers who helped Ellen with love and caring 24/7 once she lost her independence we can't thank enough. We are so grateful to each of you. Even Amazon Pillpack, and University Pharmacy for between month changes, I would thank for making it possible for Ellen to continue to take her pills pretty much herself up to the last two weeks, with supervision and guidance. Neil O'Donnell Funeral Home were kind and helpful in arranging her transport and Celebration of Life.
All of Ellen's siblings were humbled by the gracious way Ellen accepted both her diseases and the help that she needed. She stayed interested in other people and their emotions and problems, not only ours, but we heard that from a number of people who interacted with her.
We hope Ellen's son Jesse, now without the mother he loved, will still receive caring and advice and help from Ellen's friends and neighbors, as he will with love from his aunts and uncles and cousins.
