Esther Archuleta's Obituary
1918-2016\r\nOur beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Esther Trujillo Archuleta, 97, died peacefully January 28, 2016, Layton, Utah.\r\n\r\nShe was born June 4, 1918 in LaPuente, New Mexico to Catarino and Sedilla Manzanares Trujillo. Married Damian (Dan) Archuleta\r\n\r\nJuly 1, 1937 in Park View, New Mexico. Mom was loved by many and she placed her family above herself and was a devoted Catholic.\r\n\r\nShe was a very caring person and an excellent cook. After her youngest child started school mom decided to work. She was employed \r\n\r\nby Bataan Memorial Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Linen Room. The family moved to Salt Lake City where she became\r\n\r\nsupervisor over housekeeping at the Miles Hotel. Artistic in her own way, she enjoyed carving scary and funny pumpkin faces for Halloween.\r\n\r\nShe retired and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mom we will miss you!\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her three daughters; Jennie (Manuel) Pino, Mary (Mark) Heckle, Vangie (JD) Jiron, also daughter-in-law Nelda Archuleta;\r\n\r\nnine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, son Danny Archuleta and \r\n\r\nfour sisters, one step-sister and one brother. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nFamily would like to extend a thank you to Vanessa Weikert for her assistance in home care visits and to all family members who helped in the care of mom. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 West 400 South. A vigil service will be held Thursday, Feb. 4th, at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
