Filbert J. Salazar,'s Obituary
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, Filbert J. Salazar, Sr., 83, left peacefully on Feb. 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Born in McPhee Colorado on May 2, 1933 to Tony and Stella Trujillo and raised by Maria Leonella and Tobias Salazar. Married Vera P. Kelly on Oct. 10, 1953 (she said I'm gonna marry that boy cause he does dishes). Went to seminary to become a priest instead became a father of 8. He attended Judge Memorial High School and joined the army, 1953-1956. Worked at Hill Air Force Base, managed the La Morena Cafe, drove for Palace Meats and was a very active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. \r\n\r\nSurvived by wife Vera, 7 daughters, Debbie, Cindy, Theresa (Gary), Daughter Michael, Elizabeth (Tom), Loretta(Steve), Geri Mary (Jr),and 1 son Filbert. Many grandchildren, great grandkids, nieces and nephews. 1 sister and 2 brothers. Preceded by moms and dads, brothers and sisters. \r\n\r\n A special thanks to V A and Hospice staff. But a special thanks to Debbie, Michael, Geri Mary and granddaughter Trina. \r\n\r\nHe was a Golden Glove feather weight champ, loved dancing, GOLF and being with family. (Dad will always have his Tee time on Heavens Golf Course). We love you and will miss you. Love you Daddy...\r\n\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 25, at 12:00 noon at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South in Kearns. A vigil service will be held Friday Feb. 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.\r\n\r\nOnline condolences can be made to odonnellandsons.com.
