Ingeborg Valdez's Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, grandma (Oma), and schwester, Ingeborg Irma Maria Valdez, age 83, of Salt Lake City, Utah died at Intermountain Medical Center February 5, 2018 surrounded by her loving children.\r\n\r\nShe was born March 3, 1934 in Brandau, Czechoslovakia to Sudeten Germans Alois and Irma Schmotz. After surviving Word War II and expulsion from their home, her family emigrated to West Germany in 1946. There she would meet and wed an American soldier and later attained U.S. citizenship in 1961. Inga worked diligently caring for the disabled and elderly while sending her children to college and traveling the U.S and Europe with Benny.\r\n\r\nPreceded in death by her husband Benito; and in Germany by her parents and brothers Heinz, Rudolph and Walter.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her children Barbara (Henry), Anthony (Heidi); grandchildren, Jessica, Veronica, Monica, Nikita, Emma Jo, Eliza; great grandchildren, Jaden and Jordyn; and in Germany by her brothers Alois, Horst and sister Christa Bajer.\r\n\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, February 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South, where friends may call one hour prior to mass. Committal, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Funeral Directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons.
