Jayson Pete Robles' Obituary
Jayson Pete Robles, age 58, passed away on Sunday, January 5th, at his home in Midvale, Utah.
Born on April 26th, 1966, in Denver, Colorado, to his parents Yvonne Hale and Albert Trujillo, Jayson later married Leslie Shepherd, with whom he raised three children: Jonah Robles, Abbie Robles, and Tanner Owens.
Jayson grew up in East Carbon, a quaint rural town in Utah, spending his childhood exploring the outdoors. Jayson was raised and loved by three remarkable women—Antoinette Robles, Edna Hunt, and Yvonne Hale— and he often expressed special admiration for his uncle Jeff Hunt, who he considered a father figure.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Jayson enjoyed camping and snowmobiling in the mountains, with Grand Teton National Park holding a special place in his heart. Every Father’s Day weekend, he made it a tradition to take his children there, always managing to find a campsite, even against peak-season odds.
Jayson’s passions were the cornerstone of his life, whether teaching kids a new sport, discovering hidden camping spots, excelling in his career, or perfecting his famous tacos and mango salsa.
Later in life, Jayson developed a deep fondness for the Native American communities of Utah and Wyoming. He often visited the Wind River Reservation, supported local horse races, cheered for teens at basketball tournaments, and sponsored high school events. Through these experiences, he found an extended family in the warmth and kindness of these communities.
Jayson is survived by his children, Jonah Robles, Abbie Robles, and Tanner Owens; his siblings, Troy Vega, Raquel Molteni, Cory Caldaronello and Cyndee Cook; his mother, Yvonne Hale; Edna Hunt; and his ex-spouse, Leslie Robles. He was preceded in death by Albert and Antoinette Robles, Betty and Frank Juliano, Karl Hunt, Mark Hunt, Lloyd Hunt, Little Randy Hunt, Stan Robles, Alice Mann, and special cousin Kristy Hunt Manzanares, with whom he shared a sibling-like bond.
Graveside services for Jayson Robles will be held on Wednesday, January 15th, at 2:00 PM at East Carbon City Cemetery in East Carbon, UT. Afterwards, we will gather for refreshments at UMWA Union Hall, 705 Market St., Sunnyside, UT 84539, across from Miner’s Trading Post.
