Jennie Pino's Obituary
Jennie Pino, 86, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. She was born on June 24, 1938, in
Albuquerque, New Mexico to Esther Trujillo and Damian (Dan) Archuleta. She married Manuel
Pino Jr. in 1957 and began a life of travel and adventure as the Army took them and their four
children around the country and to Asia and Europe, briefly teaching preschool in Spain.
Jennie loved meeting new people, making friends, and learning about other cultures. As a family, they moved to Salt Lake City in 1976, where she enjoyed gardening, decorating, golfing with friends,
and trips to Wendover. She attended the Friends Unlimited women’s club in Salt Lake City,
where she was elected President for a term, and enjoyed hosting friends and family in her home
for special occasions. She cherished the countless hours she spent with her grandchildren
whether it was bowling, playing tennis, playing cards, or simply sitting and listening to what was
going on in their lives. Jennie was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and
great-grandmother, and was devoted to her family’s happiness. She prayed deeply and often,
asking God to watch over her family and keep them healthy and safe. Jennie was a longtime
parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son Manny (Suzan) Pino, daughter Arlene (Ralph) Montas, and daughter
Marlene (Trent) Mora. Grandchildren Tony, Cory, Daniel (Tristan) and Angela Hansen; Anthony,
David (Kate) and Monique Pino, Lucas Delatore and Mikala Coleman; Rebecca and Nicolas
Montas; twelve great-grandchildren; her sisters Mary (Mark) Heckle and Vangie (JD) Jiron, and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Darlene, and brother Danny.
The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Peak Assisted Living in Taylorsville and True
North Hospice for their excellent care and attentiveness during Jennie’s time there for the past
few months.
