Jeremy "J.J." Jay Busch's Obituary
Jeremy Jay Busch was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 30, 1980 to Jay Busch and Loretta Nielson Busch. Jeremy left this life unexpectedly and much too soon on March 9, 2022 at the young age of 41. J.J had a new outlook on life that showed genuine effort in the last week of his life. With his determined new beginning, he deeply touched the lives of his immediate family in a way that showed promise and hope for his future.
J.J graduated from Granger High School in 1998 where he received achievements and awards for his academics in sports. He attempted to go to college to become a Paralegal but got too restless by not doing something more physical. Shortly after leaving college, he then started his Apprenticeship to become an electrician. He worked for many years doing electrical work with experience in residential, industrial and commercial.
In 2002, J.J welcomed his son Kyjia into the world, with his childhood sweetheart. Life’s challenges complicated his relationship with his son Kyjia, but his love for him was never ending. In the beginning years of his son’s life, J.J and Kyjia’s bond was undeniable. Their relationship didn’t continue as strong due to J.J’s struggles in his life, but his desire for a chance at redemption was the one thing he wanted more than anything else in his life.
The last few years of his life he enjoyed spending most of his quality time with his long-time girlfriend Kelly Bate and her two-year-old daughter Mariah. They had just recently made life long plans to purchase a home together and get married. J.J was deeply loved by the both of them and has left a huge void in their future without him to keep their spirits up, lead the way and continue to give them his unconditional love and support.
J.J enjoyed playing many different sports, but his favorites were football, baseball and basketball and he always played with strong confidence and the competitiveness to be the best. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Raiders, Chicago Bulls and the New York Yankees. He was a major Michael Jordan fan and had an admirable collection of memorabilia. His biggest collection was Jordan’s shoes and he would keep them tidy and in their original boxes. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and off roading. J.J also had a passion for music of many genres, but mostly rap, movies that he would quote at any given time, standup comedy, fast cars, bullet bikes, nice big trucks that were all decked out and he was always on the search for anything that fueled his adrenaline. He had no fear which was relentless. J.J would express his tough exterior to the world and he had no problem holding his own, but he had the most sensitive heart with the people closest to him.
J.J was the youngest sibling in the beginning years of his life with two older sisters. Being the baby of the family, he learned early on how to get his way and wrap them around his little finger, especially his eldest sister. Their bond was immediate and unbreakable. J.J and his second eldest sister were a ball of laughs when they were together. If you were in their presence, you can bet that you were the center of their jokes. J.J’s deep dimples and contagious personality would win anyone over at any time. As he grew older, he became the older brother of his two younger siblings. His younger brother was of course picked on, but J.J also did his part to be a good role model in their early years together. With his youngest sister, J.J knew all the tricks of the being the baby of the family and did his best not to let her get away with anything. He did have a love for all of them that was unique, but extraordinary to each of them that will be forever with them. J.J had a natural instinct to protect those he loved and he did just that when it truly mattered.
J.J had a quick wit about him and was without a doubt the life of the party, always clowning on others. It didn’t matter who you were, “He was the Hype Man”, always up for a quick joke and hard laugh. His pranks were constant and it would sometimes drive you insane, but it didn’t stop him from pushing you to your limit. J.J also had a way about him to bring out the best in others with his leadership, from playing his own sports to coaching his little brother’s Jr. Jazz basketball teams. He had a very meticulous style with wardrobe that was always on point along with his strong tidy organization skills to keep everything as it should be. His hair, well you just don’t mess with perfection. J.J was a natural at most things and learned from a young age how to work on vehicles and be a handyman from his dad’s strong work ethic. He admired his dad in more ways than he could express, but he covertly resembled him even down to his body language. The bond J.J had with his mother before her passing was something you don’t see often. He was her little boy whom she loved unconditionally but they knew how to push each other’s buttons and test their boundaries. J.J’s attachment to his family though, remained throughout his entire life.
J.J was a friend to most and loved by many. He had a sentiment for those in need and was willing to help them out with what they lacked. Although his life took on a different path than his childhood friends, he remained in touch and they have always considered him their brother and friend to this day. J.J’s loyalty knew no bounds. If you were on his team or in his circle, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. The heart of this man could power a small city.
J.J is survived by his son Kyjia, father Jay (Debbie) Busch, brother C.J. (Angella) Byars, Sisters Tereasa Stupelli, Jeannie Streeter and Sherri Barker (Chris), Girlfriend Kelly Bate and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. J.J is preceded in death by his mother Loretta Nielson Busch, sister Denise Anne Nielson, Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, and many other family members and friends.
