Josephine (Josie) Martinez's Obituary
Our mother Josephine (Josie) was finally set free of her earthly body and became pain and disease free on May 18, 2023. Josie was born on June 13, 1933 in Questa, New Mexico. She married the love of her life Eloy Martinez on September 24, 1949. They enjoyed a happy and long marriage together, until Eloy’s passing on August 22, 2020, just one month shy of 71 years.
Josie helped her husband with the day-to-day operation of his two businesses; until they both retired in 1987, when they moved back to Salt Lake. Mom loved gardening and if she saw
a empty spot in her garden she immediately filled it with a plant. Mom was also a dog lover, as children and adults she always had a fur baby in her home.
Josie was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2009 and fought a long and valiant fight, until her heart couldn’t do it anymore.
Josie is survived by her children; Linda Morgan, Suzie Martinez; Grandson Jason (Shauna) great grandchildren Jade and Canyon Morgan. Granddaughter Stacey Martinez (Sean) Ajax, and great Grandchildren Noah Tullos, Jacob Martinez.
Grandson Andrew Martinez. She is preceded in death by her husband Eloy and son Andy Martinez.
As per mom’s request no services will be held, a private graveside service with family will be held at a later date. Mom you’re pain free now, you can rejoice in the Glory of God. We will miss you forever and we thank you for being our Mom, and Grandmother.
The Lord heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. ~Psalm 147:2-3
