Judith Elaine Dawson Schweitzer's Obituary
Judith (Judi) Elaine Dawson Schweitzer passed away on September 18, 2021, in Price Utah. She was born in Garden City, Kansas on June 13, 1945 to Ivan Dawson and Alice Moore Dawson Ellsworth. The youngest of three daughters.
Judi met the love of her life, David Schweitzer, on a blind date in 1961. She graduated in 1963 from Arvada High School. She and David were married on July 3, 1964. Their union gave them 3 children Becky, Amy and David (DJ). They bought their first and only home in 1968 that they still live in. Judi attended Front Range Community College taking some nursing classes after Amy was diagnosed with Kidney disease to help understand what Amy was going through. After the kids were in high school Judi then went to work for Master Travel, then for Adams County Sheriffs Office where she retired from in 2011. She was a homemaker and excellent seamstress making clothes and costumes for her kids and grandkids, but most remembered for the leisure suits she made dad.
She is survived by her husband Dave; daughter, Becky(Tracy) Nelson; Son-in-law, Fred Meyer and Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Schweitzer. Grandchildren, Jeremy (Kylie) Nelson; Andrew (Taylor) Nelson; Johnathon (Brandi) Nelson; William Nelson; Daniel Schweitzer; Joel Meyer and Oliver Schweitzer; as well as nine Great Grandchildren.
Sisters, Karen Butters and Glenda (Ed) Schlegel; Brothers-in-law Rick Schweitzer and Dean Nelson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by Daughter, Amy Meyer, just 4 days prior; Son, David (DJ) Schweitzer; parents, Ivan and Alice; Stepdad, James Ellsworth; In-Laws, Rose and John (Bud) Schweitzer and Sister-in-law Jean Nelson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 13th at 2:00 pm at the Westminster Masonic Center at 8151 Bradburn Drive, Westminster, Colorado 80031. Services via zoom will available for those who can't attend. That info will be posted closer to the services.
