June McDaniels Jones 10 June 1932 - 30 January 2019) Age 86\r\n\r\nMy beloved Mother\r\n June McDaniels Jones, 86, of Salt Lake City peacefully passed away on Wednesday, 30 January 2019 in Salt Lake City, UT of respiratory complications.\r\n Born June 20, 1932 at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington DC to Jessie Frances Clark of Salem, NJ and Captain Charles Robert McDaniels of Rockwood, TN.\r\n One of eleven children, June along with her brothers and sisters followed their Father's Army career living in multiple states before ultimately settling in Farmington, Utah. June graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville and pursued a nursing degree at Weber State University becoming a Registered Nurse.\r\n June worked as a registered nurse at numerous hospitals and care facilities along the Wasatch Front. Later in life, she worked as a Federal Service employee with the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, UT where she retired.\r\n She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and passed this faith on to her son.\r\n June loved to explore and traveled across the US with her son, Charles. She visited and lived many places such as Utah, California, Illinois, Mississippi, Texas, and Maryland. When she wasn't traveling, you could find her completing challenging crossword puzzles or doing one of her favorite things: playing Bingo.\r\n June carried a wit, subtle humor, and charm about her and was a lifelong friend to those who she knew. Even through many hardships, she persevered with a smile and a wink relying on her faith in God to carry her though life.\r\n She is survived by her only child, Sergeant First Class Charles Robert Holtman of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD her wonderful sister, Sharee McDaniels of Salt Lake City, UT and dear friend Lois McCullough also of Salt Lake.\r\n She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Jones of Lakeside, CA along with her beloved brothers and sisters Helen, Maybelle, Gladys, Dixie, Donald, Wilbur, Robert, Margarite, and Elizabeth\r\n Her son and family would like to thank the nursing staff and clergy of Saint Joseph Villa for their kind care of June.\r\n There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Villa Chapel on (tentative 14 February 2019 or 15 February at 1:00 pm 451 East Bishop Federal Lane SLC, UT 84115) Following the Funeral Mass she will be interned at Elysian Burial Gardens at 2:30 pm 1075 E 4580 S Millcreek, UT 84117.
