Justin Reed's Obituary
Justin Reed, born October 6, 1962 in Athens, Greece to Rebecca Loveless Nielson Hayes and Paul Dean Hayes, died October 20, 2025 in the City of Trece Martires, the Philippines.
Justin grew up in Salt Lake City and in Texas and currently lived in Arkansas. He graduated from Judge Memorial High School in 1980 and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. His career path included: being a school teacher, an officer in the Navy, a truck driver and a nurse.
Justin is survived by his older brother Daniel Nielson (husband - Richard Evans) of California, his younger sister Debra Smith (husband - Mike) of Texas, his daughter Jessie Nordquist (husband - Marvin) and their children of Washington, and his son Justin Rowan Reed DeMoulpied, Ph.D. (husband - Jason DeMoulpied, Ph.D.) of Colorado. Also survived by younger half-brothers Paul Hays Jr. and Dean Hays of West Virginia.
In addition, survived by girlfriend Daisy Rotamula and friend Steve Johnson in the Philippines, Mark Alvarez in Texas and Debbie Workman in Arkansas.
Predeceased by father, Paul Dean Hayes of West Virginia (2015) and mother, Rebecca Loveless Nielson Hayes Anderson of Texas (2019). Predeceased by younger half-brother, Phillip Hays of West Virginia (2021).
He will be buried near his maternal grandparents, Reed Huntsman and Beal Frances Loveless Nielson, in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salt Lake City. A brief graveside service will be held on Saturday November 22 at 11:00 a.m.
