Kathleen Marie Vigil's Obituary
Kathleen "Bears" Marie Vigil, our family angel and mom's best friend had to say goodbye on April 4, 2018. We suspect she left suddenly to be with her dad, and decided to forego a long and painful goodbye. With our mom's love and care we are certain her life could not have been better. Being the eldest of four children she was most certainly "The Boss". She is the goodness in our family and will be missed deeply. Bears was born in Salt Lake City on January 11, 1953 to Nick and Alouise Vigil. She loved people and had a smile that could light up any room and more significantly any heart. She had the uncanny ability to recognize those whom she could trust and those whom would be kind to her. She loved music especially "The Lawrence Welk Show" and always enjoyed getting balloons, regardless of the occasion. Bears enjoyed going for rides of any kind, any time, and any place. She was always eager to show off her clothes, jewelry and shoes. Mom dressed her beautifully each and every day. Her very special friends were Rob and Peggy's dogs, Roxy and Spice. She indulged in Coca Cola and most any soft drinks supposedly not so good for you. She had a special fondness in her heart for kids, especially babies. Our daughter, sister, sissy, Bearsiedotes, and best friend shall never leave our hearts.\r\n\r\nOur family would especially like to thank the teachers and care takers at her school, The Work Activity Center, her doctors and nurses, her aides, and her bus drivers who showed that helping and taking care of Bears was more than just a job. We can never adequately express our gratitude and appreciation. Finally, and not to forget, we must thank those special family members and friends who were always so kind to her. How lucky she was to have been surrounded by so many people who truly loved her.\r\n\r\nBears is survived by her mom, Alouise Vigil, her brother Steve (Glenda), Murray, UT; Ralph (Becky), Taylorsville, UT, and Rob (Peggy), West Jordan, UT. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces. She was proceeded in death by her dad, Nick Vigil, and was the absolute light of his life.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests a donation to The Work Activity Center in Kathy's name, www.workactivitycenter.org/donate.\r\n\r\nA Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday April 12th at 11:00am at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 W. 400 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Holy Rosary will be recited Wednesday April 11th at 7:00pm at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, where friends and family may visit from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Committal will be at Mt.
