Kenneth Ron Zaelit's Obituary
Kenneth Ron Zaelit, age 61, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on January 26th, 2025.
Born on June 6th, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Ken was the beloved son of Ronald and Judy (née Allem) Zaelit, both of whom preceded him in death in 1986. He formed lifelong friendships and was an All-Star football player at South High School. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Natalie (née Mathie) Zaelit, for 35 years, and a proud father to their daughter, Kaitlyn. Ken’s deep love for his family was evident each and every day.
After a successful career as a manager with KFC, Ken and his family moved to Sapinero, Colorado. For 15 years, they embraced new adventures in a beautiful mountain town. Eventually, they returned to Salt Lake City, where Ken was able to reconnect with loved ones and enjoy his family’s company.
Ken spent most of his life working as a handyman, a profession that showcased his natural talent for fixing and building. However, it was later in life that he found his true calling as a farmer. With a deep connection to the land, Ken poured his heart and soul into farming, a passion that brought him great fulfillment and joy. His dedication to his work, no matter the task, was a reflection of his generous and hardworking spirit.
Ken’s character was defined by his generosity and quiet strength. A man who never sought recognition for his good deeds, he was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. Whether it was through hard work or a kind word, he approached life with a steady, humble presence, never complaining, always ready to lend a hand. His distinctive smile was contagious, bringing smiles and joy to everyone around him.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Natalie; daughter, Kaitlyn; sisters Annette, Marsha (Jim), and Cynthia; and brothers James and Robert (Terri); several Nieces and Nephews; and by mother-in-law Olivia White. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and his infectious laughter.
