Leticia Simbulan Azarcon's Obituary
1941 - 2018\r\n\r\n"Letty" was born January 20, 1941 to Bermundo Sr. and Aurora Simbulan in Manila,\r\nPhilippines. The youngest of 4 kids. She passed peacefully July 3, 2018 to join her\r\nhusband Jose Sr "Joe".\r\nLetty was a devoted Catholic who held her beliefs strongly and her love of God tightly in\r\nher heart. She was a parishioner at Saint Ambrose Church for over 45 years and\r\ncherished her close friendships with her fellow parishioners along with her special bond\r\nwith Father Andrew and all the priests and seminarians who were part of her life.\r\nLetty came to the United States as an immigrant in 1966. With a newborn and a 2 year\r\nold in tow, she and Joe landed in Lawrence, Kansas and then eventually moved to SLC\r\nin 1968. Upon graduation from the University of Santo Tomas, she worked as a teacher,\r\nthen returned to school at the University of Utah and received her degree as a\r\nRegistered Dietician. She accepted a position as Director of Clinical Nutrition and\r\nDietary Services at Saint Joseph's Villa and worked there until her retirement, covering\r\na span of over 30 years. She kept busy in her retirement by working part time at LDS\r\nHospital as a Dietitian.\r\nShe was a strong member of the Filipino Community here in Utah and embraced her\r\nties with its traditions/foods and members she considered her extended family.\r\nLeticia was a caring and wonderful person who wanted to fix everyone's problems. She\r\nhated to see anyone in crisis and strived to come up with solutions for others. She was\r\na sounding board, a therapist, a friend, and always had a plan to solve your troubles.\r\nShe showed her affection through food, and she fed you because she loved you. It was\r\nthat simple.\r\nAbove all except God, her family was her treasure. Her parents, siblings, children and their spouses, and grandchildren. Most of all, her beloved Joe. She dedicated her life to\r\nassure that she gave everything she had so her family was better off, sacrifices only she\r\nwould know.\r\nLetty loved her friendships, loved her heritage, loved Joe and her family, and above all\r\nloved her religion and her God. We know we were loved because we never had an\r\nempty stomach.\r\nA funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East, where friends may call one hour prior.
