Lilly Margaret Lucero's Obituary
Lilly Margaret Lucero, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 25 at her home in South Jordan, Utah due to natural causes. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Manassa, Colorado to Carlos and Della Salazar. With eleven siblings, Lilly learned early in life to cherish her family.
Lilly married the love of her life, Orlando Lucero, on March 13 1960, with whom she shared a resilient love and had three beautiful daughters. Following his death she worked hard for many years to provide for her family and was generous toward everyone around her. She took special pride in raising her grandsons Orly, Richard, Chris and Jon as if they were her own children.
Lilly was fun and vibrant, and she had a big personality which was reflected in the pink hues of her clothing and home decor. Her favorite activities, besides spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were scrapbooking, playing cards, shopping, giving gifts to her loved ones, and politics. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and took great comfort in knowing she would see her husband, daughters and loved ones again.
Lilly is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Della; her husband, Orlando; her siblings, Jimmy Salazar, Sarah Shaw, and Carol Cordray; her daughters, Debra Geoebel and Liza Corwell; and her grandson, Carl Hills III. She is survived by her siblings, Linda Whitehouse, Della Mitchell, Stella Martinez, Carlos Salazar, Gilbert Salazar, Richard Salazar, Liz Salazar, and Gail Salazar; her daughter, Valerie Parkin; her grandchildren Gordon “Orly” Worsencroft (Carrie), Richard Schilling (Sarah), Alyssa Hennefer (Rob), Christian Corwell (Anette), Jonathan Corwell, Preston Parkin, and Natasha Parkin; and her beloved great-grandchildren Ryley, Lauren, Elle, Zoey, Ethan, Aiden, Robbie, Kelsie, Zeke, & Hannah.
