Louise Marie Duran's Obituary
On February 1, 2025, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Louise Marie Duran was born on October 26, 1945, in Ignacio Colorado to Rose Martinez and Domingo Paul.
Mom grew up in Durango Colorado. She married Steve Duran and had two daughters, Pam, and Christine, and was later divorced.
Mom met the love of her life and best friend, Stan Jansen, who shared and spent the last 40 years together as one. They were inseparable from the day they met.
In her early career, she was a fast-food restaurant manager and a waitress. She then spent 25 years working for Salt Lake County Aging Services where she retired. She loved transporting seniors to and from their appointments. She enjoyed helping people. She received certificates of recognition and several acknowledgements during her years with the County.
When Mom retired, she and Stan traveled together in their motor home for the next 18 years. Their first vacation was to Lake Louise in Canada. They visited all 50 states throughout their travels spending months at a time on the road. During the winter months they lived in their motorhome at Greenfield Village in Mesa Arizona. They were happy to spend time meeting new friends and enjoying family while there. Mom loved how warm it was during their stay. She and Stan also loved camping in the mountains. No matter where she was, Mom loved connecting with her family. When she was home in Salt Lake City, she enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren.
Survived by her partner and best friend Stan Jansen, Daughter Pam Leonard. Extended children Thomas Jansen, Julie Clark (Chris), Russ Jansen (Jenn). Grandsons Jake Padilla, Nick Raso (Colby).
