Luetta Mae Outsen-Suite's Obituary
Luetta Mae Squire Outsen-Suite (Ettie), age 94, died on May 15, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ettie was proud to be born during the worst blizzard in Colorado history, on March 2, 1929. She was born in the ranch house in Steamboat Springs, CO to Frank and Annie Cullen Squire. She married Jay Charles Outsen on May 26, 1944. Together they had seven children between 1944 and 1963. They later separated and Jay died on September 12, 2002. She married Anton (Hubcap Tony) Suite on September 22, 2007, in Palm Springs. Tony died on September 28, 2015.
Ettie spent her early years in Steamboat Springs and graduated as Valedictorian from Steamboat Springs High School in 1946. Ettie worked as a waitress, bar tender, and bar manager for many years, particularly enjoying her 20+ year employment at the Twilite Lounge in Salt Lake City. She sincerely loved her customers as family. She was a member of BPOE and American Legion Post 112.
Ettie is survived by six children, Cheryl Heyborne, Cedar City, UT; Lon, SLC, UT; Jalyn (John Frech), Hurricane, UT; Randy, SLC, UT; Russ (Sue), SLC, UT; Matt (Deanna), Nibley, UT. She is survived by 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and her daughter, Julie Anne.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 112, 320 E 3900 S, Suite D, SLC, 84107 on Sunday, May 21, 4:00-6:30pm.
Services will be held Thursday, May 25, at noon followed by visitation until 2:00pm, at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home, 372 East 100 South, SLC.
