Manuel Pino Jr.'s Obituary
Manuel Pino Jr., 83, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at home after a short illness.
He was born April 12, 1937 in Tijeras, New Mexico to Manuel and Lucinda Pino. He served in the U.S. Army, with two tours in Vietnam, and retired as a Sergeant Major after 23 years. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1976 and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 2004. Manuel was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. He was interested in history and genealogy, was a great storyteller, loved a good joke and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all of us. Manuel had a strong faith in God and was a long-time parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Jennie of 63 years, son Manuel (Suzan) Pino, daughter Arlene (Ralph) Montas, daughter Marlene (Trent) Mora. Grandchildren Tony, Cory, Daniel and Angela Hansen; Anthony, David (Kate) and Monique Pino; Rebecca and Nicolas Montas; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, and his daughter Darlene Pino who died in January 2020.
The family would like to thank all the hospice nurses and staff for their excellent care of our father.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home, 372 East 100 South. A vigil service will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home, where family and friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required for all services. Committal, Veterans Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale.
