Margaret Clark's Obituary
Margaret Clark, 88, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on July 4, 2023. She was surrounded by all her children.
Margaret was born January 18, 1935 to Mike and Josephine Baca in Olathe, Colorado. She was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
Margaret married William (Bill) Clark on July 11, 1955. They met dancing at a rec hall and enjoyed spending their time camping and fishing with family.
Margaret was a wonderful homemaker but also held various jobs throughout her career. Her favorite jobs were probably in sales because she liked the competition and rewards they offered.
Mom was a talented artist. She went back to school at Salt Lake Community College when she was in her 40’s and earned an associate degree in commercial art. She loved working with oils and enjoyed sharing her art with family and friends. Her grandchildren cherished the self-portraits she drew next to her signature in all birthday and Christmas cards.
Margaret was pretty athletic in her younger days and impressed her children with her roller skating, handstand, and jump roping “red hot peppers” skills. She learned how to swim in her 50’s and enjoyed doing laps in the pool up until last year.
Margaret enjoyed gardening and had the prettiest yard on the block. She also enjoyed playing Blackjack in Wendover while sipping some red wine.
Every year Margaret looked forward to the family reunion trips she took with her family. She had many great memories from her vacations to Branson, Las Vegas, North Captiva Island, Bear Lake, Disney World, Gatlinburg, Austin, and Soddy-Daisy. In fact, last year she was in rehab one week and worked hard to get better so she could be on a pontoon boat in Texas the next week.
She is survived by her children, Diana Bird (Duane Thornwall), Debbie Sheets (Ray), Nancy Almanza (Saúl), Bill Clark and John Clark; her grandchildren, Joseph Bird, Ray Sheets, Jr., Derrick Sheets, Samantha Almanza Stabile, and Saúl Almanza; and eight great-grandchildren, Amber Bird, Courtney Sheets, Anthony Almanza, Hailey Almanza, Taylor Sheets, Alexander Sheets, Trey Sheets and her newest, Cruz Almanza Stabile. All of whom she loved dearly.
She’s preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Ted Baca and Fred Baca.
A vigil service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 6:00 until 7:00 pm, followed by her rosary at 7:00 pm. at Neil O’Donnell Funeral Home, 372 East 100 South.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 am at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1040 West 400 South followed by her committal at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
