To explain my mother (Maria) in a small paragraph is not enough but we will try. Maria was a P.I.T.A (pain in the ass). She was one of the most complicated women I know. She was stubborn and hardheaded. She did not like to listen or take advice from anybody. She was a strong Puerto Rican woman. Even though she had her flaws, she had many virtues too. Maria had an incredible spirit and amazing vibrant personality. Anybody who knew her has a crazy story or memory of her. She always told it like it was. She never knew how to hold her tongue even in public (how embarrassing). However, with the people she loved, oh how they knew she loved them. She always made sure to tell her family she loved them. She would always call just to say “I love you” like Stevie Wonder and she wrote personal notes with cute little drawings for the ones she loved. She even made a special birthday song she sang for us all first thing birthday morning. We all sure will miss that. When we would get together as a family, she loved to cook and make sure we ate and got the hell out (for choice of better words). She loved to dance, sing, laugh, and have an overall amazing time. She had a smile that was brighter than the sun and will never be forgotten. We sure will miss that cranky, crazy, loving, amazing perv. May you walk alongside us on earth and alongside grandma in heaven. We love and miss you terribly.
She is survived by her sister Rose Padilla Garcia; daughter Rosa Valdiviez; sons Eugene “Ponch” Ramos and Carlos Gomez; niece Elitza Pitones; grandchildren Tristan Valdiviez, Adrian Ramos, Luciano Ramos, Neliah Ramos, Druman Gomez, Tea Gomez, and Jayce Stewart; niece Lydia Alvalle, and nephews Andre Tunson and Pedro Alvalle and many other friends and family. She is preceded in death by her mother Mercedes Estrada.
