Mary N. Vasilacopulos' Obituary
Mary Niarhos Vasilacopulos, born January 22nd, 1929 in Chicago, IL. passed away on January 7th, 2019 in Layton, UT. Mary grew up in Chicago, IL. where she met her late sweetheart Constantine Vasilacopulos. They were married on 6/10/1952. Mary moved to Salt Lake City that year where she became an active member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was involved in the Hellenic Gardens at the International Peace Gardens. Mary was a sought after seamstress in Salt Lake City for many years.\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Elena V. Gladstone (Calvin). Mary was predeceased by her son Jon Constantine. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Angela Sharp (Jared), Amy Vasilacopulos, JC Jensen, Jennifer Marie Gladstone, William Constantine Gladstone, and three Great Grandchildren, Austin Sharp, Isabella Sharp & Dimitri Vasilacopulos.\r\nMary spent her later years in the loving care of her granddaughter Angela and husband Jared Sharp. She was surrounded by loving family, including grandchildren, great grandchildren, family friends and many, many family pets.\r\nAngela would like to thank Mary's Hospice team, Angie, Val and especially Jodie. Great thanks also go to Grandma Vickie.\r\nServices to be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 279 S. 300 W., on Friday, January 11, at 10:00am, followed by graveside service at 11:00am, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 500 S.
