Max Horacio Alires' Obituary
Max Horacio Alires, 80, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 22, 1942, in Leadville Colorado, to Eloy and Eloisa Alires.
Dad married our loving mother Lorraine Alires in 1961 who preceded him in death in October 1985,
together they had four beautiful children. In 2006 Dad married Viola Gonzales who passed away in May
2022.
Max came from a very large family, with 17 brothers and sisters that he loved dearly. Max loved to
dance and was the life of the party at every wedding and family reunion. His sense of humor could make
anyone laugh. If you caught Max at home, one of his favorite pastimes was watching old cowboy
movies.
Max was a hard worker and instilled a good work ethic in his children and enjoyed working at Hogan and
Associates up until his retirement in 2009.
Max is survived by his children, Laura (Jerry) Lazalde, Frank (Janice), Randy (Francis), Sandy Castillo and
Angela Archuleta. 20 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren, brothers
Arthur and Felix, sisters Lily, Gloria, Mary and Margie, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorraine Alires, wife Viola Gonzales, 7 Brothers and 4 Sisters,
Daughter Lynette.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church 4501 W 5215 S Kearns UT 84118
Interment will be held at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 275 U Street SLC, Utah.
